The Alchemist deserves a fucking medal...

The Alchemist- Give this man his due!
Let me say that shit again…The Alchemist deserves a fucking medal and some MO shit.
The big homie is no stranger to the game, but since 2007 he's really been turning up when it comes to this hip hop producer shit.  And when I say “hip hop producer shit” I’m not just talking bout some dude that did some beatz here and there for some popular hip hop artists, or did some beatz that kept the clubz poppin. Dont get it fucked up, all of that is gravy too and deserves recognition as well, but The Alchemist is in a whole other nother weight class.

Producer HeavyWeight Legend: The RZA
I’m talkin bout that RZA Enter the 36, Tical, Return 2 the 36, Only Built 4 Cuban Link, Liquid Sword, Ironman weight class. Do you see the pattern?  RZA for the most part produced all of them fuckin albums.  Bangerz. More than just some singles or some album cutz for some muthafuckaz, nah… WHOLE MOTHER FUCKING ALBUMZ.  You heard me?

So now we in the new day…its not no muthafuckin 97’. Shit done changed. Some might argue, the producer’s role has evolved or maybe even regressed to the person besides the Emcee that is responsible for keeping the crowd turned up whether its in the club, on the internets, on the radio, your car or your IPOD or whatever the fuck MP3 playing device you got.  Okay so here’s the scenario, I’m a producer, I rock off with a new sound, able to spread it to the masses via a new Emcee or legendary emcee looking for re-invigoration, BOOM my sound skyrockets, everybody on it, everybody want it…I need money, so as far as beatz? Anybody can get it. Beat for you, Beat for him, Single for her. I’m the golden goose out this bitch.  LET’s GO…

Then what? How long does that last. Maybe forever out this ma’fucka I don’t know. Nah I’m lying I do know…the single hustle doesn’t last, at least not forever from what I've seen over the years.  Dudez get that good run tho and I’m not mad at that. Get money bruh bruh. Shiiiiit.

Bangerz!
That brings me back to the ALchemist tho…and the reason he deserves that fucking medal! The big homie been consistently fully PRODUCING whole projects since about 2003. I’ll admit there was a little lapse in my listenership between 03’ and 07’ but the Return of the Mac joint where he went in with Prodigy (from Mobb Deep)  was the shit.

Uh...back with MORE Bangerz!

Well I guess the homie decided that’s what it do, cause he continued with more projects teaming up with Oh No for like 5 of them shits, a project with Fashawn, a project with Curren$y, and some more shit. Once again I fell by the way side in listenership, but then just last year I heard Alchemist was teaming up with Action Bronson for a project. Oh shit! Listened to it, BANGING

Another set of Bangerz! WTF

At this point I’m thinking to myself Alchemist is on some real power shit, like on some sho nuff guerilla the game type shit.  That was like December 2012, here it is March 2013 and he did it again. The Alchemist returns producing a whole album 360 WAVES featuring the cali rap conglomerate DURAG DYNASTY (Planet Asia, Killa Ben, and Tristate). SHIT IS CRAZY. Okay I’m sold. The Alchemist deserves a fucking medal, some plaques, some naked models, heavyweight championship belts, champagne, all that shit.

The boi is at legendary status right bout now, and that shit didnt come from just dropping a couple hot beats here and there, NO, he gave and continues to give the culture whole albums of WORK. Interesting, different, traditional, 90s, boombap, underground, etc may be some tags used to describe the alchemy of the Alchemist, whatever yo, he’s made a lane and he's OWNING IT. Fuck all the bullshit.  And my body is even more ready for this new Alchemist and Prodigy “Albert Einstein” album that’s on the way this year.

I cant WAIT! *Bart Scott*
So when we talking bout “hip hop production” and The Alchemist we’re discovering the difference between Beat Makers and Producers, you know…the person that just makes tracks for souncloud and soundclick and shit, and the person that creates, shapes and molds music into a vision, coaching and guiding participating artists to follow suit.  As we all know and can fucking see, ANYBODY and errbody can grab a laptop, some software and make some bangerz. May even be blessed enough get the people to pop a couple mollys and be sweatin. *Wooooooo*  Everybody cannot however, consistently produce ENTIRE ALBUMS for years and keep the masses fiendin for more. That job is for a producer.

Me personally, I'm more interested in getting with that second option.  But that’s just me.
Thank you for the music and motivation AL. Salute.
